Joe Hoffman: We’re back at ringside folks and it’s time for the first of two tag team matches we have tonight. Up first are Ground Zero’s Evan Ward and David Black taking Scott Stevens and Kirsta Lewis. Which certainly will be an interesting match as Evan Ward caught a huge win last week as he won the LSD title from his tag team partner and stablemate David Black. While across the ring, Scott Stevens upset Rhys Townsend… and will be competing against his tag team partner, Kirsta Lewis for the World title at Rumble at the Rock.
Benny Newell: Well no one cares about the remains of Ground Zero and the LSD title… and Stevens and Kirsta are just filler for the three Best Alliance members who will be the real competitors in the Solitary Confinement match.
Joe Hoffman: Well I’m sure Jace Parker Davidson cares about the LSD title. Since as we just learned Jace will take on Ward in a LSD and TV unification match at Rumble at the Rock. Someone will leave Alcatraz with the honor of being the very last TV champion in HOW history.
"Good Day To Die" by Mishkin hits and the crowd erupts in cheers as Ground Zero makes their way out onto the stage together.
Bryan McVay: The following tag team match is scheduled for one fall. First making their way to the ring representing Ground Zero… weighing in at a combined weight of 440 pounds… David Black and the HOW LSD champion Evan Ward!!!
Benny Newell: These two men said they were going to be fine with whoever won last week… but you have to think the reality is that David Black is very bitter right now towards Ward. Whether consciously or subconsciously, you have to think it will have an effect in them teaming up tonight.
Joe Hoffman: Not everyone is as superficial as you and The Best Alliance Benny. These two men were just happy to put on a great show for the fans last week.
Benny Newell: Bullshit Joe… bullshit.
Black and Ward enter the ring and the lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" The crowd starts booing, but it’s not just a wrestling booing. It’s a booing of pure hatred. As Dave Mustaine's voice echoes throughout the arena, "I am the Scorpion, whoa!"
Joe Hoffman: And here comes the man who…
“I get off on you, getting off on me!” cuts off Steven’s music as the lights come up and Kirsta Lewis walks out onto the stage with lead pipe in hand.
Joe Hoffman: Some mind games by Kirsta? Cutting off her PPV opponent’s entrance.
Bryan McVay: And their opponents weighing in at a combined weight of 386 pounds… Scott Stevens and Kirsta Lewis!!
Kirsta and Stevens stare down each other for a moment before they rush the ring and go right after Ward and Black as Hortega calls for the bell to start the match with chaos of all four participants brawling it out. Punches are flying but things start to settle down a bit as Kirsta knees Ward in the gut and double clotheslines both over the top rope and to the outside.
Joe Hoffman: I guess that makes Black and Stevens the two official men to start this match.
Black connects with a hard right and connects with a quick fallaway slam on Stevens. Stevens stumbles up and Black whips Stevens into his corner and charges in with a knee to Steven’s gut and an elbow shot before Hortega pulls him away. Stevens walks out of the corner though and right into a sidewalk slam from Black who goes for the cover.
Uno….
Dos…….
Joe Hoffman: Steven’s powers out!
Black gets up and stomps Steven’s across the head as he tags in Ward who springboards off the top rope and nails Stevens with a flying clothesline as he gets back up. Ward rolls through and hits the middle rope and connects with a moonsault on Stevens.
Joe Hoffman: Some great high flying by Ward as him and Black are dominating Stevens early in this match.
Ward pulls Stevens to his feet and goes for a neckbreaker but as Ward twists around Stevens pushes him away and right into Hortega who goes down for a moment. Stevens lunges for Kirsta and makes the tag as The Hellcat grabs her lead pipe and rushes into the ring and drills Ward in the ribs with the pipe.
Joe Hoffman: Come on! Lead pipe by Kirsta!
Benny Newell: Hortega saw nothing Joe! So shut up!
Kirsta starts stomping away on Ward as Black is screaming at Hortega who is just starting to pull himself back to his feet. Kirsta lifts Ward up and body slams him back down as she starts to climb the ropes and goes for the flying splash and connects as Kirsta goes for the cover.
Uno…..
Dos………
Tres……..
Joe Hoffman: Black breaks it up with a knee to Kirsta’s head!
Benny Newell: What kind of man pulls a woman off the top of his friend? Gay Ground Zero fags.
Kirsta is dazed for a moment as Hortega ushers Black out of the ring… Ward and Kirsta both get back to their feet and Ward leaps and nails Kirsta with the Shining Wizard!
Joe Hoffman: The Third Generation Award Winning Knee!
Benny Newell: But Ward goes down too!
Joe Hoffman: The effects of that lead pipe still being felt!
Black is just about back into his corner as Stevens rushes into the ring which gets Black’s attention as he tries to go back in but Hortega holds him back. Stevens grabs Kirsta and pulls her back to his corner and enters as if he made a legal tag. Black rushes back into his corner as Hortega turns around just in time to see Ward dive towards his corner and make the tag to Black who rushes into the ring and starts trading punches with Stevens.
Joe Hoffman: Stevens never made the legal tag, but Hortega had his hands full with Black.
Benny Newell: Looked like a good tag to me Joe… dunno what match your watching.
Black ducks a Stevens right and connects with a quick belly to back suplex that lays Stevens out as Black starts stalking him, looking for the Blackout.
Joe Hoffman: Stevens in trouble here!
Black goes at Stevens but with a superkick instead but Stevens ducks it as he goes for the diamond cutter on Black.
Benny Newell: Toxic Sting!
Joe Hoffman: Reversed by Black!
Black pushes Stevens away mid diamond cutter and Stevens’s slams down onto the canvas. He rolls up and right into the Blackout from Black.
Joe Hoffman: Blackout connects! Cover attempt by Black!
Uno….
Dos…….
Benny Newell: Kirsta in the ring!
Three…….
Benny Newell: Kirsta…
Joe Hoffman: Is blocked by Ward!
DING DING DING
Bryan McVay: Here are your winners in 10:23… Evan Ward and David Black… GROUND ZERO!!!
Joe Hoffman: A great battle there as Ground Zero overcomes the illegal tactics of Kirsta and Stevens.
Benny Newell: If anything is illegal it was Ward hitting Hortega, the match shoulda been stopped right there and Ground Zero disqualified!
Joe Hoffman: Right… well Ground Zero prevails and they will head into Alcatraz with some good momentum. Black for the Solitary Confinement World title match and Ward in his TV and LSD title unification match against Jace Parker Davidson.
Benny Newell: Momentum is fine, but it will hit a Best Alliance brick wall…
Joe Hoffman: Anyhow, more tag team action coming up as the BA, Townsend and Mike Best take on Kostoff and Chris Diamond.
Benny Newell: Well no one cares about the remains of Ground Zero and the LSD title… and Stevens and Kirsta are just filler for the three Best Alliance members who will be the real competitors in the Solitary Confinement match.
