UNDERCARD
JAN VAN DER ROOST VS. SCOTT STEVENS
POWERS: ”The following contest is scheduled for one fall!”
Lights Dim throughout the arena as ‘Rooster’ begins to play. A single orange spotlight fades in on the entrance. Jan van der Roost slowly walks out, a pair of orange gloves in one hand, a towel around his neck.
POWERS: ”From Utretcht in the Netherlands, weighing in at two hundred and two pounds, he is the ‘Rooster’ JAN VAN DER RROOOOSSTT!!!”
He looks towards the ring, then walks ahead, with his head down. He stops, looks at his opponent or the referee, then heads to the steps. He slowly climbs the steps then stops at the corner. van der Roost places the towel on the turnbuckle, wipes his feet on the apron and climbs through the ropes. He looks up towards the orange spotlight then puts the left glove on. The arena lights come up and he tosses the right glove into the crowd or places it below his towel.
POWERS: ”And the opponent!”
The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area as the angelic voice of Lauryn Hill serenades the live crowd.
“Ready or not, here I come, you can’t hide
Gonna find you and take it slowly
Ready or not, here I come, you can’t hide
Gonna find you and make you want me”
The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen a Texas flag, with the words, “Texas Born. Texas Bred.” “Texas Forever.“ branded into the flag. The crowd reaction is mixed, but there are more cheers than boos, as “Ready or Not” by Fugees plays throughout the PA system. As the chorus begins to fade there is one final image that is displayed across the screen and that message reads in bold, capitalized letters…..SCOTT STEVENS as “Hellraiser” by Motorhead begins to play.
“Hellraiser, in the thunder and heat
Hellraiser, rock you back in your seat
Hellraiser, and I’ll make it come true
Hellraiser, I’ll put a spell on you”
The cheers intensify as the chorus hits the speakers, drawing out the man from Texas.
POWERS: ”Introducing at this time, coming to us from the Great State of Texas, by way of Houston, Texas.”
Walking down the aisle, he fists bumps some of his fans while raising a fist at a few of the more vocal bashers.
POWERS: ”Standing at six feet, six inches, and weighing in at two hundred and fifty-six pounds…”
As he finally gets to the ring, he climbs the nearest turnbuckle and stares down at his opponent.
POWERS: ”This… is… SCOTT SSTTEEVVEENNSS!!!”
An icy glare and the throat slash gesture his only actions as he drops to the mat.
VASSA: ”Up next folks, we have Jan Van Der Roost taking on Scott Stevens!”
JOHNSON: ”Both of these men are coming off tough losses from two weeks ago. Jan was unable to capture the win versus Mariano Fernandez and Scott Stevens put up a fight but was unable to slow down DeAndre Johnson’s momentum.”
VASSA: ”These two men have the chance to get back on the right track here tonight.”
JOHNSON: ”We have a lot of experience in the ring right now. These two men combined bring many, many years of experience. It’s going to be a pleasure calling this match.”
VASSA: ”Is there such a thing as too much experience?”
JOHNSON: ”You mean like something you lack when it comes to the ladies?”
VASSA: ”WOW, JUST WOW!!!”
JOHNSON: ”I’m only kidding Vinny, calm down.”
VASSA: ”I AM CALM!!!”
JOHNSON: ”If you say so, but to answer your question, no. There is no such thing as too much experience when it comes to wrestling.”
VASSA: ”I’m just saying. Both of these men have a ton of it. We could be here all night watching as they put on a clinic for us all.”
JOHNSON: ”I guess that’s a risk we’re going to have to take but an opportunity I welcome with open arms.”
DING!!! DING!!!
The two approach each other until standing toe to toe in the center of the ring. Locking up, neither man gets the leverage from the start. Back and forth, the two push each other until finally, Jan ducks underneath Stevens’ arms, locks onto his wrist, and pulls back as he steps in behind him. With his free arm, Stevens throws an elbow back, clocking Jan upside the head. Ripping his arm away from Jan, Stevens spins around and throws a wild punch with the same arm, missing as Jan ducks and fires back with an elbow to the gut. Popping up, Jan connects with a European uppercut to Stevens’ jaw, knocking him back a step as his head whips back. Opening his hand, Jan slaps Stevens across the chest before locking onto his wrist and whipping him to the ropes. Upon Stevens’ return, Jan jumps up and connects with a drop kick to his chest, sending Stevens down to his back and rolling across the canvas.
Pushing himself up from the mat, Stevens looks up as Jan charges straight for him. Hitting Stevens in the chest with a running knee, Jan knocks Stevens off his feet and flying into the corner with a thud. Two more times, Jan slaps Stevens across the chest with open hand chops. As he goes for a third, Stevens bursts forward, locking onto Jan’s arm and spinning the two around before slamming Jan into the corner. With rights and lefts, Stevens connects to the sides of Jan’s head with rapid punches. Grabbing onto the top rope to his right, Stevens uses it for leverage as he begins kicking Jan in the stomach over and over until forcing him down into a seated position. With Jan’s back against the corner, Stevens then transitions his kicks into stomps as he continues to drive his foot downward onto Jan.
JOHNSON: ”Stevens is awake after all!”
VASSA: ”Jan was able to get off to a hot start but Stevens used his size right there to just simply overtake Jan.”
JOHNSON: ”The size difference between the two is quite noticeable. Stevens is a huge mass of nothing but pure muscle.”
VASSA: ”All brawn and no brains!”
Pulling Jan up from the mat, Stevens slams him into the corner once again. Lifting Jan up, Stevens sits him on the top of the corner before climbing up and standing on the middle ropes. Locking his arm around Jan’s head, Stevens tosses Jan’s over his before reaching behind him and grabbing onto the back of his pants. Showing off his true strength, Stevens then lifts Jan into the air, holding him upside down for a short moment before falling back and dropping him to the canvas with a superplex! Rolling over and covering Jan, Stevens goes for the pin as the official slides in beside them with the count.

JOHNSON: ”Jan kicks out at the two!”
VASSA: ”Not even that!”
Pushing himself up and standing to his feet, Stevens wastes no time and quickly turns to the ropes not far from them. Coming back on the return, he jumps into the air and comes down with a leg drop!
TTTHHHUUUDDD!!!
Rolling out of the way, Jan escapes the leg drop from above as Stevens crashes against the bare canvas. Sitting upright, he reaches around himself and favors his back as his hand presses against his pain point. Popping back to his feet, Jan takes to the ropes behind Stevens and as he comes back on the rebound, he hits Stevens with a second running knee, this time right between the shoulder blades! Locking onto Stevens head, Jan pulls him up to his knees before wrapping one around his throat and locking in a sleeper hold.
VASSA: ”I think it might be Scott’s bedtime soon.”
JOHNSON: ”Notice how he applied the sleeper with Stevens on his knees. Given the height difference between the two, no way Jan could have locked that in with Stevens on his feet.”
As Jan chokes the life out of Stevens, the official approaches the two before checking with Scott. Waving the official off, Stevens refuses to submit as his face grows a darker shade of red by the second. Stevens fight gets slower and slower by the second as well while Jan continues cutting off his air supply. Still checking in, the official looks to Stevens but gets no sign of submission from the big man. After a few moments pass, Stevens heads completely drops as his fight comes to an end.
JOHNSON: ”I think this might be it Vinny.”
VASSA: ”I told you, it’s bedtime for Scotty boy!”
Grabbing Stevens’ arm, the official raises it into the air before releasing it and watching as it drops by his side. Grabbing it a second time, the official raises it once more and drops it by his side again. Grabbing it a third time, the official holds it up for a brief moment before releasing it. Stevens’ arm drops to his side but before his arm is fully extended, it shoots straight up into the air as Stevens’ eyes open and his head looks up at the official.
VASSA: ”He’s awake! Fuck bedtime!”
JOHNSON: ”Stevens still has some life in him folks.”
Shaking his hand back and forth, Stevens then throws his arm back, delivering an elbow to Jan’s mid-section. The big man then uses all of his strength to stand to his feet, lifting Jan off of his as he picks him up while holding on for dear life. Reaching overhead with both hands, Stevens grabs onto Jan and in the blink of an eye, he jerks his body forward while lunging over and ripping Jan off his back. Slamming Jan down to the canvas, Stevens extends both arms to his sides before looking up to the lights and roaring.
Jan quickly rolls over to his stomach and pushes himself up to all fours. Before he can get up from the mat, Stevens kicks his foot forward just as Jan looks up, hitting him in the face with a big boot. Jan rolls over to his back and quickly covers his face with both hands as his body rocks back and forth on the canvas. Reaching down, Stevens then pulls Jan up from the mat before pulling his head between his legs. Wrapping him up around the waist, Stevens then lifts him up and holds him upside down for a brief moment before planting him head first into the canvas with a spike piledriver!
VASSA: ”OOOHHHHHH!!!”
JOHNSON: ”Moral Compass!”
Jan’s body falls over and smacks against the mat before rolling to his back. Climbing over Jan, Stevens makes the cover as the official rushes in with the count.

“Hellraiser” hits the speakers as Stevens rises to his feet. Stepping in beside him, the official then lifts his arm into the air as the final bell sounds.
