WRESTLEFEST CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
TRUE WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD FINAL MATCH
SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE: “INSANE” MARCUS CANE
Kaycee Jay – Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the MAIN EVENT of the evening! This match is scheduled for one-fall with a thirty-minute time limit and is for the TRUE Wrestling Championship of the World!
The fans absolutely explode in anticipation of one of the biggest wrestling matches they will ever witness! The cheers and “TRUE IS AWESOME!” chants; the stamping, slapping chairs and pounding against the ring barrier; the excitement of the moment, the tension so thick you would break a Ginsu attempting to cut it and the absolute electricity swells the US Bank Arena to a fevered pitch unlike any in recent memory.
Austin McGreghor – Right when you think they can’t get any louder, tell them the most coveted title on the planet is about to be decided!
The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" The crowd starts booing as Dave Mustaine's voice echoes throughout the arena, "I am the Scorpion, whoa!" The jeering intensifies as a mash-up of "I Stand Alone" and "Amazing" hits the speakers, drawing out "The Venomous One." Walking down the aisle, he talks trash the entire way while raising a fist at a few of the more vocal bashers. As he finally gets to the ring, he climbs the nearest turnbuckle and stares down at the crown, an icy glare and the throat slash gesture his only actions as he drops to the mat.
Kaycee Jay – Currently in the ring to my left, from Houston, Texas, “SCORPION” SCOTT STEVENS!
The arena lights dim down to a gentle glow and the sound of pouring rain fills the arena to the brim. Hardly containing themselves already, the fans start to rise to their feet as a sudden bright flash of orange lights flood the crowd before a deafening crash of thunder rattles the foundation and leaves the arena in darkness. The pre-chorus rift to "Crash" by Decyfer Down instigates a small riot amongst those in attendance as orange flashes, like lightning, illuminate the way for the Force of Nature, and Justin Michaels appears through the curtain and onto the stage, followed by his wife, the lovely Lindsay Michaels.
"CRASH! YOU'RE GOING DOWN! WITHOUT A SOUND!"
Playing to the cheers of the fans from atop the ramp, Justin marches back and forth and interacts with the fans, recognizing all the support before turning his attention back to the ring, and starts to make his way towards the squared circle.
"AND I'LL PASS YOU UP, BEFORE I EXPLODE! BREAKING IN TWO! I'LL SEE IT THROUGH!"
Having made it to ringside with his lovely wife at his side, Stormm patrols around to the opposite side of the ring and gives a less than genuine salute towards the commentator team, more specifically, Ernie Turner, before hopping up onto the ring apron and continuing to play off of the reaction from the fans.
"YOU WON'T KEEP ME DOWN WHEN I CRASH THROUGH YOU!"
Justin climbs through the ropes and immediately scales the nearest turnbuckle to pose for the crowd. The flash bulbs surge throughout the arena as the orange lights brighten back to the venue's usual lighting. Justin hops down from the corner as his music fades out, but the overwhelming applause does not as he stands the ready for his match.
Kaycee Jay – Now to my right, from Kansas City, Kansas, this is JUSTIN “STORMM” MICHAELS!
Suddenly, the fans are brought to their feet once more as the opening riffs of Joe Lynn Turner’s cover of “Back In Black” cut through the arena and the kick-drum gets into the chests of everyone in the building. The lights above the stage put on a show as the TRUE-Vision lights up with the entrance video of the modern-day Man in Black, Mr. One Night Only… THE Boss! Johnny Matthews explodes through the curtain, no shades over his focused emerald glare, no coffin nail sealing his fate in his lips. He marches down the ramp, removing his Armani blazer at the half-way point and rounds the ring. He points up at Michaels and Stevens then gestures them each into opposite corners as he climbs the close ring stairs and ducks through the ropes. He huddles with Kaycee in the center of the ring, blocking their voices from the microphone.
Ernie Turner – Okay the boss man is here. Maybe he will tell us that we are going to decide this another day and that we can all go home now.
Austin McGreghor – Are you serious?!
Ernie Turner – I’m exhausted McG and besides, what’s another two weeks.
Kaycee Jay – Ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to introduce the new special guest referee, TRUE Owner JOHNNY MATTHEWS!
Ernie Turner – Are you kidding me?! How is this fair to Scott Stevens?
Austin McGreghor – Well, he is the boss and he has to find someone to cover it; who better than the boss himself?
Matthews doesn’t even check either contender as he ushers the ladies, Kaycee and his little sister, out of the ring and immediately calls for the bell. Michaels and Stevens go chest to chest in the center of the ring, bumping chests as they spout off to one another. Matthews goes to the far left corner and watches. Neither Stevens nor Michaels back down as they continue to tell one another just how much greater they are than the other. Stevens strikes first, popping Micheals across the mouth. Michaels nods, with a smirk and backs up, close to the near left corner, inviting Stevens to charge. Stevens obliges and stops himself from going chest first into the top turnbuckle of the corner.
Austin McGreghor – Stevens still favoring that left knee as he pursues the Hall of Famer across the ring.
Michaels loosens up his neck, shoulders and arms, inviting Stevens to charge him once more in the opposite corner. Stevens takes the bait once again and once again, he stops himself from running directly into the corner. Michaels continues the game, ducking another charge as Stevens goes to the ropes on the left. Stevens, having had enough of the cat and mouse, steps into the center of the ring and invites Michaels to lock up. The bigger man gets the advantage of the tie up, shoving Michaels backwards. Michaels circles Stevens, as Stevens remains in the center of the ring. Again, the lock up and Michaels pushes against the bigger Stevens, backing him into the far left corner, but before Stevens is pinned against the turnbuckles, he tosses Michaels against them. Matthews calls for a clean break, eventually separating the two.
Austin McGreghor – We are not going to see any big risks as these two get a feel for one another.
Ernie Turner – That is why McG, that is why we should have never done this all in one night.
Matthews advises Michaels that he has to come out of the corner as Stevens takes position in the center of the ring. Michaels steps out and invites Stevens to tie up, only to duck the attempt and slap Stevens on the back as he passes. Michaels backs up, nearly all the way across the ring, down near the opposite corner of Stevens now. The fans chant “FORCE OF NATURE!” which infuriates Stevens. Stevens tells Michaels that he’s going to beat him and kiss his woman. Michaels simply shakes his head as if to say, “Not going to happen.” Stevens charges Michaels again and again, Michaels ducks behind him; this time, he locks on a standing side headlock. Wrenching the neck, Michaels suddenly drops to one knee adding pressure to the hold. Back to a vertical base, Michaels maintains control of the headlock, even as Stevens goes to shoot him off. Michaels puts on the brakes, dropping to a knee a second time.
Ernie Turner – Come on Scott, get him off of you!
Stevens goes to the bread basket with a clubbing blow; once, twice and a third time before finally shooting Michaels off and into the ropes to the left. They collide in the center of the ring with neither man budging. Michaels goes to the ropes again, this time the near ropes, and tries a shoulder block and again Stevens doesn’t budge. This time, Michaels goes to the ropes on the right and ducks a lariat from Stevens and then comes off of the opposite ropes with a flying clothesline taking Stevens off of his feet! Only momentarily as Stevens is back up, but quickly locked up in a side headlock and taken over with a headlock takeover. Michaels keeps the hold locked in as Stevens squirms a complete three-sixty in the center of the ring. Matthews checks Stevens’ shoulders, looking for a pin. Stevens finally gets his feet under him and pushes the pair to a vertical position. Stevens wraps on a bear hug while Michaels maintains the headlock and then picks his opponent up off of his feet and runs him into the turnbuckles of the far right corner.
Austin McGreghor – Probably one of the most powerful ways I’ve ever seen to break a headlock!
Stevens stays on Michaels driving a shoulder into his abs and then another and then a third before Matthews get him to step back and allow Michaels to go along the far ropes, nursing his innards. Stevens clobbers him from behind with a forearm, sending Michaels to his knees. Stevens kicks and then punches Michaels in the guts. Michaels stumbles, clutching to the top rope on the left side to keep his feet under him. Again, Stevens fires a hard shot into the abdomen, this one doubles Michaels over and Stevens pushes him down from behind. Michaels strikes from his knees and Stevens clobbers from above. Michaels crawls across the ring and uses the ropes on the right to pull himself up before falling backward into the near right corner. Stevens rockets Michaels across the ring from one side and then back to the corner where they started. Michaels stumbles out of the near right corner right into the arms of Stevens. Stevens keeps a tight hold on the ribs and abdomen cinching it up as Michaels tells out in agony. Matthews checks on his brother-in-law, the bear hug definitely squeezing the breath out of him.
Ernie Turner – SQUEEZE HIM!
Michaels struggles and then fires a shot to Stevens ribs and then his jaw. Stevens relinquishes the hold as Michaels boxes his ears. Michaels goes to the far ropes only to return into a planted big boot that completely cleans his clock. Stevens wipes the sweat from his brow and flicks it down onto his opponent before drawing a fist high above his head. He blows a kiss to Lindsay on the outside, mouthing the words, “This is for you, baby!” before stinging her husband with a fist drop. The first cover as Stevens hooks the far leg and wiggles his tongue and the young lady at ringside.
1 . . .
Ernie Turner – What the hell!
Austin McGreghor – I hate to agree with you, but that count was a little…
Ernie Turner – A little?! Are we watching the same match?! A turtle just crossed a beach in that one count!
Stevens and Matthews are at words as Stevens backs the boss into the corner, clapping his hands together; one, two, three! Stevens returns to Michaels, still writhing on the mat. From behind Michaels, Stevens wraps his arms tightly around the rib cage and plants a knee firmly in the back of his opponent. Stevens thrashes Michaels left and right against his knee and Michaels yells out, “NO!” Stevens leans in, pushing against his knee and pulling his arms up into Michaels ribs. Michaels pushes back to his feet, but remains trapped in the bear hug. Michaels delivers some back elbows; the first only stuns Stevens, the second loosens his grip and the third breaks Michaels free. Michaels to the left side ropes and returns, scooped up by Stevens. Stevens toys with Michaels holding parallel with the canvas below for several…
Ernie Turner – What is that 10… 15… 20… OH!
Austin McGreghor – Sidewalk Slam!
Stevens hooks the leg again and again Matthews is noticeably slow to get in position and just barely gets a one before Michaels kicks out. Stevens again backs Matthews up into the corner asking why then demanding that he call this match down the middle, “Make it fair Matthews! Goddamn it! I worked just as hard as he did!” At this point, Michaels had drug himself to the near ropes and was using them to help him attempt to find his feet, but Stevens attacks from behind. Stevens lands a few clubbing blows, followed by kicks and then stomps to the shoulders, rib cage and abdomen of Michaels before picking him up and dragging him back to the center of the ring to once again lock on the bear hug. This time though he squeezes then gets a shot into each side of Michaels’ ribs before squeezing again and repeating the sequence. Michaels tries some shots of his own even kicking down on Stevens’ very heavily bandaged left knee, but it seemingly has no effect as Stevens clinches the bear hug tighter.
Ernie Turner – These fans can chant all they want and she can play cheerleader all day, but they cannot win this match for their precious Force of Nature!
“WHAT DO I GOT TO DO MATTHEWS?!” Stevens yells out, “DO I HAVE TO COMPLETELY TAKE HIS BREATH, MAIM HIM, WHAT’S IT GOING TO TAKE?!” Matthews check on his brother-in-law once more as Michaels’ body goes limp against Stevens. Matthews lifts Michaels’ right arm high above the situation and drops it. “ONE!” Stevens shouts! Again, Matthews reluctantly lifts the right arm. The fans are ready to riot as they cheer and chant for the “FORCE OF NATURE!” Matthew lets go of the arm and again, it falls limp. “PUCKER UP BABY, THAT’S TWO!” Michaels body begins to pulse with the rhythmic chant as Matthews lifts the arm a third and final time. Sensing that the arm won’t drop, Stevens hurls Michaels directly into Matthews, smashing him against the turnbuckles of the far left corner. Matthews crumples as Michaels comes out of the corner with a heavy wild right!
Austin McGreghor – Lindsay Matthews has had a rough night as she is now checking on her brother.
In the center of the ring Michaels throws another right and blocks one from Stevens. Michaels lands another solid shot and blocks a second from Stevens. Michaels pops Stevens again and ducks a standing clothesline attempt. Stevens turns around to have his chest lit up; once, twice and the third time, Michaels has him in the far right corner. Michaels whips Stevens across the ring, but Stevens reverses and it’s Michaels to the opposite corner. Michaels dodges a charge as Stevens crashes chest first and bounces his head off of the steel ring post. Michaels sets up in the center of the ring measuring Stevens up. Stevens turns around into a big press slam as Michaels feeds off of the energy of the screaming fans. Michaels checks on Matthews and then returns his attention to Stevens as Stevens is slow to find his feet. Michaels stomps the mat as Stevens groggily stands and turns around. Michaels turns bounces Stevens off of the mat with a running clothesline then another and a third. Stevens is on sea legs as he is bounced around and continues to roll to his feet on pure instinct.
Ernie Turner – These fans are off of the wall crazy right now McG, I have NEVER seen anything like this!
Austin McGreghor – That is the power of the Force of Nature Ernie!
Ernie Turner – NO! That McG is the power of the …
FORCE OF NATURE! Michaels hit Stevens with his spinning fisherman slam! Michaels goes for the cover and Matthews counts as he crawls…
1 . . .
Ernie Turner – As much as I don’t want to see Stormm the champion, let’s just end this already!
2 . . . . . .
Austin McGreghor – NO! Scott Stevens kicked out!
“HOLY SHIT!”
“TRUE IS AWESOME!”
Michaels maintains control as he locks on the Eye of the Stormm, but Stevens gets to the ropes. Not that it matters, Matthews has all but died in the center of the ring. Michaels breaks the hold, no use in wasting the energy, and drags Stevens out into the center of the ring where he attempts to revive Matthews to no avail. Michaels picks Stevens up and gets the TOXIC STING out of nowhere! Stevens makes the cover and, again, Matthews remains motionless on the mat.
Austin McGreghor – Wait, that’s Ronald Hamilton coming down the ramp.
Hamilton, the freshest of the officials in attendance rushes to the ring and dives under the bottom rope, counting as he comes in…
1 …
2 … …
3 … NO! Somehow or another Michaels was able to kick out!
Ernie Turner – OH MY GAWD! You have got to be shitting me!
Now, Ronnie Hamilton is the only man standing in the ring as Stevens, Michaels and Matthews are all three spent and near motionless on the canvas. Stevens and Michaels each roll to opposite sides while Hamilton attempts to roll Matthews out onto the apron. Stevens is up first, followed closely by Michaels. They collide with one another in the center of the ring just to keep each other from falling back to the mat. They go to the ropes on the right side and roll up into the far corner. Its Michaels trapped in the corner as Stevens has control. Stevens lifts some very high knees up into Michaels’ ribs and chest before his attempt to rocket his opponent across the ring is reversed and Michaels pulls Stevens into the FLASH FLOOD! Another cover and Hamilton is quickly in position to make the count.
1 …
Ernie Turner – JUST STAY DOWN!
2 … …
Austin McGreghor – This has to be it!
3 … … …
Ernie Turner – FINALLY!
Kaycee Jay – Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to announce the winner of this match and the FIRST-EVER TRUE WRESTLING CHAMPION OF THE WORLD… JUSTIN “STORMM” MICHAELS!
Austin McGreghor – Justin Michaels has returned to the top of the mountain folks!
Ernie Turner – Good for him, I’m going home!
Austin McGreghor – It was here in Cincinnati folks, mark your calendars forever because TRUE has a face, TRUE has a Champion and his name is Justin “Stormm” Michaels!
As Stevens rolls out of the ring, under the left ropes closest to the ramp, Stace Matthews steps out from behind the curtain, carrying the sixteen pounds of leather and gold; The TRUE Wrestling Championship of the World. A very unpleasant situation to unfold as she stands with the title at the top of the ramp and a defeated Stevens glares up at her from the foot of the ramp.
Austin McGreghor – Come on now. Let her by. You were beaten in the center of the ring.
Stevens has a cold stare, locked on either the Championship belt or the wife of the boss, as he stalks up the ramp. Stace goes to one side of the stage, the look on her face spells out the hopes and prayers that Stevens will just pass her by, but that is not the case at all. Stevens demands the belt and Stace refuses to hand it over. Officials rush the stage to protect the title and more importantly, the chair of the Championship Committee. Stevens has his way with the little referees, tossing and throwing them about giving Stace just enough time to get around him and head for the ramp. Or, so she thought. Stevens snatches her from behind and spins her around into a big wet kiss. She slaps him and he takes the title belt from her before pushing her down.
Austin McGreghor – That was uncalled for, wait a minute… what is he doing now…
Stevens stomps back down the ramp, belt in hand. In the ring, Michaels has only got himself sat up against the near right corner. Lindsay is tending to him, totally unaware of what has happened on the ramp. Matthews remains motionless on the apron of the far side of the ring. Stevens jerks Lindsay up from behind, surprising her with a juicy wet kiss of her own. She fights to get away and Michaels pulls his self up in the corner only to be floored with his own championship belt. Stevens blasts Michaels across the head several times, busting the champion open before returning his attention to the lovely Lindsay Michaels. Stevens stalks her like some big cat would a wounded or weaker prey. Lindsay ducks out of the ring and drops to the floor.
Austin McGreghor – Good thing she got out of… oh come on, what is he doing now?
Stevens tosses the title to the canvas and gestures like he is urinating on it. In the corner of his eye he notices Matthews stirring on the apron. The crowd has now showered the ring in garbage as Stevens snatches up the belt and goes to where Matthews is lying. Stevens jerks Matthews up and, with the plate of the belt firm against his own shoulder, Stevens makes Matthews the next victim of the TOXIC STING!
Austin McGreghor – Alright now! You’ve done enough dammit!
Suddenly, the crowd explodes as Mark Devereaux slides into the ring, under the bottom rope on the left side. Devereaux spins Stevens around knocking the Championship belt from his grasp. Devereaux Driver!
Austin McGreghor – THANK YOU MARK DEVEREAUX!
Stevens is out and Devereaux is the only man standing in the ring. He goes to help Michaels up out of the corner and then collects the bloodied belt from the canvas. Devereaux hands the title to Michaels and then holds his arm up in victory to a huge pop from the exhausted crowd. Devereaux kicks the garbage out of the ring and then snatches up the largest piece and dispatches Stevens to the mats at ringside, tossing him through the ropes. Devereaux crosses the ring applauding with the crowd as Michaels raises the title high above his head. Devereaux holds the ropes for Lindsay and Stace, who had followed him down to the ring, allowing them to enter the ring. Stace goes to aid Matthews while Lindsay celebrates with her husband.
Austin McGreghor – Scott Stevens may have tried to ruin this event, but Mark Devereaux has saved it!
Devereaux continues to keep a watch on Stevens as he stumbles up the ramp, but leads the crowd in cheers as orange confetti rains down from the rafters on the newly crowned champion!
Austin McGreghor – Fans, TRUE returns to Best Studios on Friday, September 28! Already booked, we will see Timothy Hunt challenge the TRUE Television Champion, Mr. Rottentreats! We will also see that man right there, Mark Devereaux, in a three-way elimination match with Scott Stevens and Brad Jackson to determine the number one contender to the TRUE Wrestling Championship of the World!
“THANK YOU JUSTIN!”
“THANK YOU MARK!”
Austin McGreghor – We are out of time, for my anxious broadcast colleague Ernie Turner, I am Austin McGreghor – thank you for joining us! We will see you in two weeks!
