Scott Stevens vs. Jackson Cooley
LBI Group Stage
Back live and Chaos cuts back to Joe and Benny for the calling of the next match.
Joe Hoffman: Well ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the next match as Scott Stevens takes on Jackson Cooley of our LBI Invitational.
Benny Newell: Hopefully this lasts more than 5 minutes so we dont keep getting random OLD FUCKS like Hanson coming out as time filler…..also Stevens.
Joe Hoffman: Well as shocking as it is Benny, Stevens got here with a surprise win over Black Mamba and Jackson Cooley got a huge upset win over the Last Man in Wrestling, Steve Solex.
Benny Newell: Ugh..no I’m seriously going to fucking vomit..
“Cruel Bloom” by Converge hits as Jackson Cooley makes his way from the back and down to the ramp.
DING DING
Bryan McVay: The following contest is a Lee Best Invitational match scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing in at 195 pounds…JAAAAAAAACKSON COOOOOOOOOOOLEY!
Cooley enters the ring and doesn’t really respond to the crowd’s booing of him. He makes his way to one of the turnbuckles and just looks locked in as he awaits his opponent.
Joe Hoffman: Jackson looks prime and ready to get another big victory under his belt in this invitational and can he do it again against the former HOW World Champion?
Benny Newell: Ok..I WILL say beating Solex was a big, albeit fluke victory for Cooley. But putting Scott Stevens on the same platform like Solex is like asking me if I have a hard on every time Tara’s name is mentioned or even uttered in pass by conversation…its stupid to even think of the obvious…
Joe Hoffman: ..so much to digest in that last statement there, Benny. I think you’re over thinking it…still on the Tara thing I see?
Benny doesn’t reply as he gives Joe the finger for even making him bring up the topic.
The lights in the arena go black as the sound of bells are heard throughout the arena. Each bell lights up a signal spotlight above the stage and the final bell brings the High Octane Vision to life as
“For Whom the Bell Tolls” by Metallica begins to play.
The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen a Texas flag, with the words, “Texas Born. Texas Bred.” “Texas Forever.“ branded into the flag. The arena burst the roof off with cheers as the crowd knows who is about to walk out and they are letting him know it by chanting his name. The final image that is displayed across the screen is a giant hand that slowly closes into a FIST as letters slowly appear and form a message and that message reads in bold, capitalized letters… SCOTT STEVENS.
Bryan McVay: From The Great State of Texas, weighing in at 256 pounds…SCOTT! STEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEENS!
The wait is finally over as a spotlight shines towards the top of the entrance ramp as the chorus hits the speakers drawing out the man from Texas and the cheers intensify as Scott Stevens appears from behind the curtain. the Texan stares down at his opponent with an icy glare before slowly raisin up his right fist high into the air. As he lowers it he gives his opponent the unofficial state bird of Texas to show his true feeling towards them. As Stevens makes down the aisle, he fists bumps some of his fans while raising a fist at a few of the more vocal bashers.
Stevens slowly makes his way around the ring never taking his eyes off of his opponent until he reaches the nearest set of ring steps and proceeds to enter the ring. Once inside, Stevens goes to the nearest corner and ascends the ropes; looking out amongst the crowd before raising his fist once more before dropping to the canvas as a loud chant erupts from the crowd.
Joe Hoffman: And there’s the former HOW World Champion and fellow HOW Hall of Famer! Scott Stevens is looking to continue the magic in this invitational.
Benny Newell: And there’s the blue balls. I don’t know whether to thank Stevens for coming out or be angry at him since my imagination was in fucking wonderland again.
Joe Hoffman: Quite the conundrum I’m sure. Anyways, Stevens has looked impressive so far in this LBI and he vows to get to March to Glory to fight for the Championship he should have gotten a shot for over Rhys Townsend and he had a good reason to be bitter about it.
Benny Newell: No..he didn’t. Mike Best beat him like we all knew he would, again. He didn’t owe the Texan Mexican cunt a rematch and thank Lee, literally, that he didn’t get that opportunity cause he has to EARN it like everyone else!
Joe Hoffman: Some may disagree with you Benny, but so far Stevens is certainly earning his way back to it. You can’t deny if he beats Cooley here today, that he would be in the serious conversation to be a contender to win the whole LBI.
Benny Newell: When hell fucking freezes over again, Joe. It will never freeze over again. The first freeze over was just a fluke.
Boettcher checks both men before calling for the bell.
DING DING
Cooley immediately rushes after the sound of the third bell and makes a beeline for Stevens who isn’t prepared for Cooley’s speed as Cooley launches himself at Stevens and connects with a huge missile dropkick which causes Stevens to be launched into the corner turnbuckle. Cooley once again hits a dropkick to Stevens as Stevens is locked in the corner. Cooley hops up and punches Stevens as the crowd gets to a ten count before Stevens falls forward on the mat. Cooley hooks the legs of Stevens.
ONE
TWO
Joe Hoffman: Kickout by Stevens! I don’t think he was ready for that offensive storm by Cooley there!
Benny Newell: As much as it pains me to compliment either man, Cooley at least came ready with a battle plan! The lesser of two fucking evils I suppose.
Cooley continues his offensive prowess as he mounts Stevens and once again starts to unleash right after right as Stevens finally gets his hands up to defend the quickness of Cooley. Finally Stevens knocks Cooley off of him and he gets back to his feet. Cooley kips up and once again beats Stevens to his feet and as shocked as the Texan looks is barreled over with a midsection kick to the gut followed by a snap suplex by Cooley. Cooley once again covers the former HOW World Champion.
ONE
TWO
Joe Hoffman: Another kickout by Stevens. Stevens better regroup here because he’s in a lot of trouble right now and doesn’t seem to have an answer to stop Jackson right now.
Benny Newell: Like I said, Jackson is the lesser of two evils but he looks like he just wants it more which isn’t surprising whatsoever.
Cooley once again back to his feet as he grabs Stevens up and looks for another suplex, but Stevens finally dodges it and turns around and clocks Cooley with a vicious clothesline as he seemed tired of Cooley’s offensive flurry.
Joe Hoffman: And Steven’s finally getting some footing in this match!
Benny Newell: He’ll choke. Lucky clothesline. One move does not define a man, Hoffhole.
Cooley gets back to his feet and as Stevens turns around and goes for a spear, Cooley barely dodges but grabs Stevens and tosses him shoulder first into the ring post. Stevens stumbles over as Cooley takes the opportunity to head to the top rope.
Joe Hoffman: Oh boy, Cooley going high risk here!
Benny Newell: High risk, high reward but in Steven’s case, it’s always reward reward.
Cooley measures Stevens as Stevens struggles to get to his feet. As he does, he turns around as Cooley dives high off the top rope but Stevens catches him midair.
Joe Hoffman: TOXIC STING OUT OF NOWHERE!!!!
Benny Newell: NO FUCKING WAY!!!
As Cooley falls to the mat, Stevens quickly covers him as Boettcher makes the count.
ONE
TWO
THREE!!
DING DING DING!
Bryan McVay: Here is your winner in four minutes and fifty nine seconds, SCOOOOOOOOOOT STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVENS!!!
Joe Hoffman: Holy crap I was not expecting that! Cooley went to the well early it seems and Stevens used that opportunity to get the shocking quick win over Cooley and I don’t know if Cooley saw that coming! Seems that one move did define the man in this case, Benny.
Benny Newell: Mother of Fuck. Couldnt last two more fucking seconds there? I would have kicked out easily on that shitty fucking move.
Joe Hoffman: Anyway, Scott Stevens gets yet another big win in the LBI and continues to keep his focus on getting to March to Glory for a hopeful showdown with a rematch against Mike Best for the HOW World Championship and I’m starting to wonder if anyone is going to stop him in his quest for HOW’s greatest prize!
Benny Newell: I need a god damn drink…
Stevens celebrates his victory as Cooley rolls out of the ring and to the back looking to pick himself back up and get back on track as Chaos cuts backstage.
