Scott Stevens vs. Black Mamba
LBI Group Match
The show returns to ringside where Joe Hoffman and Benny Newell were equally excited about the next match.
Joe Hoffman: Up next we have the first match of the returning, Black Mamba, against our former World Champion, Scott Stevens, who is looking to redeem himself after losing the title at ICONIC to Mike Best.
Benny Newell: I still can’t say it, Hoffman. That lonesome loser never was World Champion, he never beat Mike. It never happened!
Joe Hoffman: Oh, it happened, Benny. It shocked the wrestling world but it most definitely happened. As for his opponent, Mamba is a legend of times gone by, but can he still hang in the modern era with the rest of the roster? Time will surely tell. Who have you got money on winning tonight, Benny?
Benny Newell: Urgh, I don’t care, Hoffhole. I just don’t care about either Stevens or Mamba. Who ever wins, I’m going to be disappointed. Can’t we just get Solex down here to beat the shit out of both of them?
“New England” by Kid Kapichi Ft. Bob Vylan hits the speakers as Black Mamba comes out, slowly eyeing the fans to the left and right to him, as a slow smile creeps on to his face, as he stops short of the ramp, the lights focus upon just James Ranger, his sunglasses reflecting the light as it transitions from white to an eerie green..
Bryan McVay: The following LBI Group Stage match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, hailing from London, England, weighing in at 243 pounds, BLAAAAAACCKKKK MMMMAAAAMMMBAAAAA!
He takes off his sunglasses, smirking as he squats briefly, surveying the arena and the ring before slowly rising to his feet and walking slowly and purposely towards the ring, the smirk now gone. He climbs in as his music fades. The lights in the arena go black as the sound of bells are heard throughout the arena. Each bell lights up a signal spotlight above the stage and the final bell brings the High Octane Vision to life as
“For Whom the Bell Tolls” by Metallica begins to play.
The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen a Texas flag, with the words, “Texas Born. Texas Bred.” “Texas Forever.“ branded into the flag. The arena burst the roof off with cheers as the crowd knows who is about to walk out and they are letting him know it by chanting his name. The final image that is displayed across the screen is a giant hand that slowly closes into a FIST as letters slowly appear and form a message and that message reads in bold, capitalized letters… SCOTT STEVENS.
Bryan McVay: And his opponent, from The Great State of Texas, weighing in at 256 pounds, the former HOW World Champion…SCOTT! STEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEENS!
The wait is finally over as a spotlight shines towards the top of the entrance ramp as the chorus hits the speakers drawing out the man from Texas and the cheers intensify as Scott Stevens appears from behind the curtain. the Texan stares down at his opponent with an icy glare before slowly raisin up his right fist high into the air. As he lowers it he gives his opponent the unofficial state bird of Texas to show his true feeling towards them. As Stevens makes down the aisle, he fists bumps some of his fans while raising a fist at a few of the more vocal bashers.
Stevens slowly makes his way around the ring, never taking his eyes off of his opponent until he reaches the nearest set of ring steps and proceeds to enter the ring. Once inside, Stevens goes to the nearest corner and ascends the ropes; looking out amongst the crowd before raising his fist once more before dropping to the canvas as a loud chant erupts from the crowd. Joel Hortega calls for the bell to get the match under way and Mamba wastes no time charging at Stevens with a wild clothesline, which Stevens easily ducks and bounces back off the ropes to take Mamba down with an explosive spear!
Joe Hoffman: Stevens is wasting no time getting serious. That spear surely must have cracked a rib.
Benny Newell: Let’s hope so! Can Stevens crack a rib too?
Stevens drags Mamba to his feet and throws a forearm to the side of Mamba’s head, but Mamba ducks the second and throws a kick to Steven’s gut which is easily caught. Mamba follows up by throwing an enziguri, but Stevens ducks it. Mamba manages to land on the free foot and bounces back immediately to go for a reverse enziguri which also misses, but Stevens catches it and hefts Mamba onto his shoulder using Mamba’s own momentum, bringing him back down in a sloppy sit out powerbomb! He holds for the pin.
UNO!
DOS!
TRE-Kickout!
Benny Newell: Why isn’t it over yet?! Stevens stop being shit and end it!
Joe Hoffman: Black Mamba is throwing everything at Stevens but hasn’t managed to land a single blow yet. You have to wonder how much longer he can stay in the match.
Mamba pulls himself up to his feet and clutches at his back but Stevens doesn’t give him time to recover and is right back on him. Stevens throws Mamba in the corner and kicks away at Mamba. Mamba manages to pull himself up onto the turnbuckle to get out of the way but Stevens follows him up and staggers Mamba with a Texan Uppercut as they teeter atop the turnbuckle. Stevens grabs Mamba’s head and goes to leap…
Joe Hoffman: Stevens going for the Toxic Sting off the top rope!
Benny Newell: This might kill both of them!
… but Mamba slips out of hold and Stevens crashes hard to the mat. The fans cheer wildly as Mamba signals for the Advent Dawn! He leaps, flipping backwards with a Shooting Star flip and…
Joe Hoffman: TOXIC STING!
Benny Newell: What the fuck?!
Stevens had leapt up from the mat and grabbed Mamba’s head mid flip to head a devastating Toxic Sting! Stevens makes the cover and Joel Hortega makes the count.
Uno!
Dos!
Tres!
The bell rings and “For Whom The Bell Tolls” hits the speakers again as Joel Hortega raises Stevens’ arm in the air.
Bryan McVay: And here is your winner in 4 minutes and 3 seconds, and winning 3 points in the LBI, SSSSSCOOOOOTT SSSSSSTTEEEEEVVVVVEEEEENNNNNSSSSS!
Benny Newell: Stevens is such a loser.
Joe Hoffman: Stevens won, Benny, and what a match that was! Mamba got too enthusiastic trying to hit that super high risk move before Stevens was properly worn down but credit where credit is due, he tried his best.
Benny Newell: No he didn’t, he didn’t hit a single fucking move!
Joe Hoffman: What about sending Stevens crashing to the mat?
Benny Newell: Don’t be an idiot, Hoffhole, Mamba didn’t throw Stevens off the top, he just avoided getting taken down! Stevens did that to himself!
Joe Hoffman: Anyway, folks, stay tuned as we still have our main event to come where Darin Zion and Brian Hollywood clash in a heated, personal battle!
Benny Newell: For Lee’s sake, what’s it come to where those two are main eventing the show? Just kill me now.
The show leaves Stevens to celebrate as we cut away to commercials.
