MATCH FIVE / MVW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH:
Island of Misfit Wrestlers (Rah and ‘The Luchador with Insanely Poor Oral Hygiene’ Halitosis with ‘Sinfully Delicious’ Dawn McGill) © vs. The Sports Entertainment Corporation (‘The Scorpion’ Scott Stevens and P.M.C. Banks with Mr. McMann and Charlie Blackwell)
Thunderbolt Smith: Not the best night for the Tag Team Champions. Scott Stevens showed why he wrestles at a big time level by tearing through both Rah and Halitosis at will. The Island fared better when P.M.C. Banks was in there. Rah hit a few suplexes and teased the ‘Eye of Rah’ but Banks managed to slip away. Dawn McGill saved the champions repeatedly which frustrated ‘Sports Entertainment Genius’ Mr. McMann and her cousin Charlie Blackwell. There was the obligatory ‘kissing’ spot where McGill pulled referee Ron Martin to her and laid on a big time kiss on him after Stevens Toxic Stung Halitosis and was in the process of pinning him.
Pissed at the fact the referee did not make the count, Stevens went right over to Martin and started screaming at him. Banks came over and started shouting at McGill. McMann became concerned that Martin might throw the match out and tried to get Banks back to the SEC corner. Stevens went back in the ring and hit a second Toxic Sting on Halitosis. He hooked the leg. Martin was there this time to make the count. But McGill grabbed a chair and whapped Stevens in the back with it causing Martin to disqualify the champions.
McMann went ballistic. Banks got in referee Ron Martin’s face. Stevens went on a rampage. He started towards Halitosis but McGill hit him with a second chair shot. The Scorpion turned around and kicked the chair into Dawn’s face. Then he hit a Toxic Sting on him. But McGill gave Rah enough time to pull Halitosis to safety.
Rick Hall: The better team did not win. Stevens is light years better than this level but I don’t think Banks held up his end of the bargain. Dawn McGill did everything in her power to save Rah and Halitosis and in the end she sacrificed herself for them to hold on to the belts.
That said, the SEC blew a golden opportunity last night. McMann was fuming leaving the ring afterwards and knew they wasted a lot of money bringing Scott Stevens in for one show and not coming away with the title.
