TRUE WRESTLING: WRESTLEFEST

WRESTLEFEST CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
QUARTERFINAL MATCH
LANDON DIVINE vs. “SCORPION” SCOTT STEVENS
Kaycee Jay – This next match, scheduled for one-fall with a fifteen-minute time limit, is a quarterfinal match of the WrestleFest Championship Tournament!
“Born Entertainer” by Veruca Salt hits the speakers ushering Landon Divine and his female companion Lucy from behind the curtain to a welcoming chorus of boos from the sold-out crowd! Too consumed in themselves and one another, they pay the fans no mind as the make their way down the ramp.
Ernie Turner – The winner of this match will face Brad Jackson in the semifinal match, correct?
Kaycee Jay – Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Lucy, he is from Beverly Hills, California and weighs in at two-hundred forty pounds…
Austin McGreghor – That’s right Ern, the winner will face Brad Jackson in the semifinal.
Kaycee Jay - …LANDON DIVINE!
Divine and Lucy make it to ringside where he escorts her to a corner and then promptly ascends the rings steps. He wipes the soles of his boots on the apron before ducking into the ring between the ropes, not even touching them. A quick spin in the middle of the ring, taking in the jeers with his arms outstretched, is followed by a quick bow to his fair Lucy.
Austin McGreghor – A very arrogant…
Ernie Turner - …PERFECT!
Austin McGreghor – Call it what you want I suppose.
Kaycee Jay – AND HIS OPPONENT!
The lights in the arena go pitch black for a few moments before the TRUE-Vision hums to life displaying in sharp red letters, “NOTHING SURVIVES MY STING!” Red lasers and spotlights illuminate the arena as Dave Mustaine’s voice echoes over the booing crowd:
“I AM THE SCORPION, WHOA!”
Kaycee Jay – From Houston, Texas, weighing in at two-hundred and fifty-six pounds…
The jeering fans do their best to overwhelm the “I Stand Alone/Amazing” mash-up that draws “The Venomous One” from behind the curtain.
Kaycee Jay - … “SCORPION” SCOTT STEVENS!
Scott Stevens makes his way down the ramp, trash talking the fans with every step and even draws back as if he’s going to hit a few of the more vocal bashers. Finally, reaching the ring, he goes up the steps and quickly up the nearest turnbuckle. He stares down at the crowd, an icy glare and then gestures a throat slash, pulling the glare to the ring as his hand moves across his throat and fixating his attention on Landon Divine. He drops down off of the turnbuckle and ducks through the ropes, entering the ring.
Ernie Turner – Scott Stevens is a former champion all over the world in many different promotions many different times, with his entry here…
Austin McGreghor – Let me guess, you want to change your vote?
Ernie Turner – How did… wait a minute… shut up McG!
Inside the ring, having already checked Divine while Stevens made his way to the ring, Official Ace Tanner checks the wrist tape and boots of the Scorpion before taking to the center of the ring. He motions to both competitors to be ready and calls for the bell. Both men circle the ring and then go in for the tie-up, but Landon ducks Stevens and stuns him with a right to the side of his head. Divine takes a few steps back as Stevens brushes it off and Tanner warns against the closed fist. Again, they circle and again Divine ducks the tie-up. This time however, it is Stevens with a stinging right in return. Divine is quick to go to the corner, ducking under the rope to stop the oncoming attack. Tanner steps between them and as he pushes them apart, Divine gets a cheap shot over the shoulder of the official.
Austin McGreghor – That was uncalled for!
Ernie Turner – No, that was smart!
Divine powders to the floor and the chase is on; both men outside of the ring with Stevens hot on the trail of Divine. On the opposite side of where he made his exit, Divine is back in and goes across the ring to the ropes as Stevens reenters. Divine ducks a clothesline on the first return and then leaps over a telegraphed back body drop on the second. Stevens catches him the third time, attempting to press him up, but Divine wriggles out and drops down behind him. Divine pushes Stevens forward, chest first into the ropes. Stevens hangs on sending Divine to the mat with an unoccupied rollup. Divine is quickly to his feet and rushes into the arms of Stevens. Stevens roars out and then shakes the ring and the entire front row with a spine buster.
Ernie Turner – I felt that all the way over here!
Austin McGreghor – I think the fans in the luxury suites felt that.
Stevens amps up as he takes a few steps around the ring allowing Divine to crawl to the corner nearest Lucy. While the crowd doesn’t support him, they eat the move up. Stevens rushes in with a crushing knee to the chest before picking Divine up. As Divine comes up, he gets both thumbs into Stevens’ eyes and backs him to the center of the ring. Tanner steps in between the two returning Divine to the corner with a stern warning. Divine again rushes Stevens, only to be caught and pressed more than six and a half feet above the mat. In pure show of strength, Stevens presses once, twice and a third time before dropping Divine to the mat.
Ernie Turner – DAMN!
The crowd continues to get into the big time moves as Divine stumbles to his feet and Stevens measures up from behind. As Divine turns around, he takes a forearm to the face and Stevens spins him around to plant another. Stevens pushes Divine into the corner and rockets him across the ring into the opposite. As Divine hobbles out of the corner, he’s launched into the air with aback body drop. Again, Stevens yells out, seemingly building in the moment of each big move. As Divine uses the far ropes to pull his self up, Stevens measures and then takes his opponent’s head off with a running lariat sending him out, over the top rope.
Ernie Turner – Someone remind him that he could only win that way on the last show.
Austin McGreghor – I am sure he is well aware.
Lucy runs to the side of Divine as he rocks in pain, seated on the floor with his back against the crowd barrier. Inside of the ropes, Tanner is fighting to keep Stevens in the ring. Stevens gets past and ducks through the ropes. A ring grip pulls Lucy out of the way as Stevens comes off of the apron, cannon balling into Divine. Stevens is quickly to his feet and pulling the crushed remnants of his opponent to a vertical position. Stevens drags Divine to the ring and smashes his head off of the apron before rolling him back in. Divine crawls across the ring as Stevens ducks through the ropes and pursues him. Stevens pulls Divine up and holds him against the ropes to stick a forearm to the face. Stevens pushes Divine’s head back, over the top rope with his right hand and overhead chops him in the center of his chest.
Austin McGreghor – The Scorpion lighting The Born Legend up here!
Stevens whips Divine across the ring hard; Divine returns from the opposite ropes, ducking a clothesline line and dropping down on his knees behind Stevens. Divine lunges forward clipping the left knee from under Stevens. Divine is slow, but soon to his feet and stomping the left knee of Stevens. He stomps a second time and a third before bending the back of Stevens around the bend in his own knee. He applies pressure, leaning in on the situation before jerking the leg forward. Divine stomps the inside of Stevens knee three times and smashes it between the mat and a dropped elbow. On the ground, he pushes his right elbow in the inside of Stevens’ knee and leg scissors his ankle and foot. Applying pressure from both angles he pushes his forearm against the inside of Stevens’ knee while using the leg scissors to pull against the push. Tanner checks and Stevens refuses.
Ernie Turner – There’s my pick right there, doing what he does best!
Austin McGreghor – Are you kidding me?!
Stevens continues to refuse, but is clearly in a great deal of pain.
Ernie Turner – No. He’s working a body part.
Austin McGreghor – No, you are changing your vote again?!
Stevens positions himself under Divine just enough to land an elbow in his chest. Divine is jolted, but continues to apply pressure. The crowd cheers, but more so in support of the action; as Stevens continues to find a way out of his current predicament. Stevens clubs Divine in the back of the head and then pushes Divine back, transitioning the move into an arm bar. He arches back and Lucy squeals out in pain for her man. Divine fights and struggles, throwing himself about, until he’s able to stretch his feet to the bottom rope; he pinches the ropes between the toes of his boots. Stevens demands Stevens release Divine’s arm and starts to count.
Austin McGreghor – Okay, he has to break the hold here.
Ernie Turner – You try telling the first TRUE Wrestling Champion of the World that!
As McGreghor sighs, inside of the ring, Tanner had to break the hold and both are back up. Divine uses the ropes for some quick momentum, running right into a knee to the abdomen. Stevens drills him with an uppercut sending saliva into the third or fourth row before whipping him across the ring. Stevens charges in and Divine drops allowing Stevens to step over him and immediately hit the ropes. As Stevens steps over the second time, Divine trips him up and slides out under the bottom rope, dragging Stevens’ legs out over the edge of the apron. Divine racks the favored left leg of Stevens on the edge of the ring apron. Tanner demands that Divine return to the ring warning a ten-count. Again, Divine snaps the inside of Stevens’ knee on the ring apron before dragging him to the corner and using the ring post against the inside of the knee.
Ernie Turner – Smart. This is experience.
Austin McGreghor – Are you saying the worldly-traveled Scott Stevens lacks experience?
Divine lets up and Stevens rolls to the outside, crashing down on the mats. Divine picks him up only to kick him in the back of the knee. Again, Stevens is jerked up and Divine rolls him in the ring. Divine slides in behind him and goes for a quick lateral press, hooking the left leg for the pin.
1 …
Ernie Turner – Called it all along!
2 … KICKOUT!
Divine helps Stevens up and goes for a neck breaker that is blocked and transitioned into a snapmare. Divine maintains control of Stevens’ head and, as Stevens is seated, plants a knee between his shoulder blades then slams him back, drops and elbow and rolls down Stevens over his leg. With one hand on Stevens’ ankle and the other high on his thigh, Divine launches his bottom half into the air and drops a sharp knee into Stevens’ left knee. Divine pulls Stevens up and, with his shoulder deep in Stevens’ midsection, Divine shoves Stevens into the corner. “SHE’S AN ESCORT!” chants erupt in the crowd as Divine stands on the second turnbuckle dropping punches into the face of his opponent. Slightly distracted, Divine is shoved off of the turnbuckle and lands hard in the ring. He does this a second time, rushing back to the second rung and getting two shots in before shoved down again. As Stevens rushes in, Divine gets a low drop kick right to Stevens knee.
Austin McGreghor- Stevens has to start protecting his knee if he plans to make it out of this one and win two more!
Ernie Turner – Lateral press!
1 …
Austin McGreghor – He’s got the leg hooked!
Ernie Turner – But he can’t hold him!
Fans in the front row can be heard trying to incite the chant once again, but it never catches on and Divine pays it no attention going to the corner and pulling his elbow pad off. He hops up onto the second turnbuckle and comes off with a leaping knee drop on the injured knee. Again, Divine goes to the corner. As Divine gets in a verbal altercation with a fan at ringside over the top rope, Stevens gets to his feet. Realizing this, Divine comes off with a higher knee but is caught and slammed down hard with a capture suplex. Stevens, not able to hold on to any kind of pin, rolls off of Divine and both men are down.
1 …
2 … …
3 … … …
Austin McGreghor – Ace Tanner counting both of these men out!
4 … … … …
Both men, having rolled to opposite corners, use the turnbuckles to help them up. They charge one another at the same time, Stevens turning Divine inside out with a vicious lariat. Divine instinctively rolls and is back up against the ropes. As he stumbles forward, Stevens spears in with a flying elbow. Stevens back up and catches Divine in a tie up that results in Divine being hoisted high above Stevens’ head, both of them vertical with the blood rushing to Divine’s cranium. Stevens goes forward with an inverted suplex. Stevens drops a closed fist to Divine’s forehead and leans back against him for a pin.
1 …
Ernie Turner – This is it!
2 … …
Ernie Turner – Scorpion advances!
Thr… … KICKOUT!
Stevens and Tanner go chest to chest, arguing the count. Favoring his knee, he returns to collect Divine. Stevens sets up for the Toxic Sting, taunting Lucy on the outside of the ring as he is able to position Divine’s head just… Divine gets loose with a kick to the back of Stevens’ left knee and then, in some martial arts form or kick pose, holds Stevens knee under his boot to apply added pressure. Able to hold the pose just long enough to show it off, Divine has to shift into a sleeper hold. Stevens urges his self to his feet with Divine hanging on tightly. Stevens reaches back with his right arm hooking Divine’s near leg and charges backward into the corner. Divine crumples to the mat and Stevens’ knee gives on him and he goes down as well.
Austin McGreghor – Both me down again!
Stevens is up first, but Divine is not far behind. Stevens goes for a spear which Divine dodges, sending Stevens shoulder first through the corner and into the ring post. Divine snatches Stevens, spinning him around and getting a snap double-underhook DDT! A quick pin attempt…
1 …
Ernie Turner – Stevens just got stung!
2 … …
Austin McGreghor – Divine could have him here!
Thr… KICKOUT!
Divine pulls Stevens up and locks on a sleeper hold from behind. Stevens muscles through, hoisting Divine up onto his shoulder. Stevens drops down, racking Divine’s body against his shoulders breaking the hold. Stevens powers himself back up under the weight of his opponent. This time, as he drops, he flings Divine’s legs off of him converting the move in mid-drop; TOXIC STING! Stevens hooks a leg for the pin attempt!
Austin McGreghor – That is Scorpion’s Toxic Sting finisher!
1 …
Ernie Turner – There’s no way he’s kicking out!
2 … …
Austin McGreghor – Here we go!
3 … … …
Ernie Turner – Just like I said he would!
Kaycee Jay – The winner of this match and the next man to advance into the semifinals, “SCORPION” SCOTT STEVENS!
Stevens goes over the top with his celebration, literally rubbing it in the face of every fan in the building just as much as Divine. While Divine remain motionless on the mat, Stevens drops down out of the ring and, something like the prior winner, gets… gives a very unwanted kiss at ringside. Lucy, completely disgusted having being touched by the Texan slaps him across his face only inviting a second big and juicy kiss from the Scorpion.
Ernie Turner – HA! He beat you up and kissed your girl!
Stevens ushers Lucy aside as he continues his celebration going up the ramp. The crowd boos him, but he doesn’t care. If you didn’t know better, you’d believe he had just won the Championship final the self-zealous party he is throwing before disappearing behind the curtain.
Austin McGreghor – That’s two quarterfinals down and a semifinal coming up where Scott Stevens face Brad Jackson!
Ernie Turner – Can you imagine those two big guys out here?
Austin McGreghor – No telling what may happen, but we will see it right here, LIVE, on iPPV exclusively at true-ewrestling.com!
Ernie Turner – That’s right, my parents had to buy this event at the TRUE website to watch me tonight!

Austin McGreghor – That’s right, fans can also register membership and get access to all of TRUE’s super-card events here on iPPV!
