Season Six, Week Three
Nagasaki, Japan
May 29, 2012
BEFORE THE SHOW (I): Three hours before showtime
The League cameras catch sight of Tori Montgomery entering the arena early, duffle bag and roll-on suitcase in hand. She seems to be in a jovial mood, whistling some tune as she turns the corner towards her designated dressing room. As she opens the door, the camera shot (to her right) captures her dropping the duffle bag as her jaw drops open. The bag falls with nary a sound as the camera pivots around her to show her dressing room is a complete disaster area. Tables have been knocked over, the refrigerator has been left open with food strewn everywhere, and chairs broken into pieces. The most telling image, though, is the blood-red lipstick message scrawled on the vanity mirror:
"The longer you keep it, the worse it will be."
Tori Montgomery: Stevens wants to play this game, does he?
Fishing into her pocket, Tori pulls out a cell phone and hits a number to speed-dial.
Tori Montgomery: Amy, get me the number of Mason Hardt....
BEFORE THE SHOW (II): Thirty minutes before showtime
He's the last to arrive, but that's the way he prefers it. Part of his pre-match ritual is to stride into enemy territory like his ancestors of old, surveying the field to see exactly what he is about to take by force. Most of the other League members know this about him, and are quick to give Thor Hammerskald a wide berth in the last half-hour before the first match begins.
Tonight, he feels even more at ease, in a place where his exploits seem to have taken on a life of their own. Granted, the last time he was in this part of the country, four seasons ago, he wrestled the Match of the Season against Ly Quang Bao in Fukuoka, some 95 miles away. It might be the air of this region, or perhaps it's some lingering part of his Viking heritage that feels like he's conquered the area before, and can do so again with ease.
However, he doesn't see the attack coming, and is blissfully unaware of it until the steel chair impacts his back. The first impact drops Thor to a knee, but the second and third strikes come just as swiftly, leaving Thor down on the concrete just a few feet from his locker room. Another six or seven chair shots strike before officials finally pull the offender away from Thor. Amidst the orders of the security personnel, Scott Stevens' cries of "This is only the beginning, thief!" echo in the hallway as Thor slowly gets to all fours. A look of pure hatred shows in his face before he shoves the cameraman out of the way, losing the feed and causing a fade to black.
THE LEAGUE: SEASON SIX, WEEK THREE
The fireworks around the stadium are nothing compared to the fireworks backstage already this evening, and the night promises to be just as heated as ever as 22,123 fans file into the Nagasaki Baseball Stadium for tonight's event.
Bob Sinclair: Good evening, everyone, and welcome to Week Three of The League! Bob Sinclair, sitting at ringside with the reigning LPW Champion, Frankie Garnett, as well as Tori Montgomery. Tori, you look like you need to vent.
Tori Montgomery: Me, vent? No, no, I'm just fine, Bob. It'll happen soon enough.
Frankie Garnett: Well, can you do it and get me out from this stigma of a title belt already? Scorp's already promised to feed me a piece at a time to Godzilla if he doesn't get his belt back!
Tori Montgomery: Godzilla. And you fell for that?
Frankie Garnett: Look, in this city, I'm not taking anything for granted!
Bob Sinclair: We have a full card for everyone tonight, and we're going to get started right away, so let'[s head to Amelia Williams to get the night underway!
Scott Stevens (0-2, 12%) vs. Nuclear Templeton (2-0, 15%)
The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" The crowd starts booing as Dave Mustaine's voice echoes throughout the arena, "I am the Scorpion, whoa!" The jeering intensifies as a mash-up of "I Stand Alone" and "Amazing" hits the speakers, drawing out the man who claims to be the reigning Legacy Pro Wrestling champion, although lacking the belt around the waist. Walking down the aisle, he talks trash the entire way while raising a fist at a few of the more vocal bashers and flipping the bird to everyone else. As he finally gets to the ring, he climbs the nearest turnbuckle and stares down at Tori and Frankie, an icy glare and the throat slash gesture his only actions as he drops to the mat.
Amelia Williams: Ladies and gentlemen, our opening bout of the night is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Houston, Texas, weighing 256 pounds...Her Goddess Selket's favorite Arachnid, The King of Sting, The Venomous One and Only, and...erm...the reigning Legacy Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion... he is "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens!
Frankie Garnett: Why did Amelia hesitate there? Stevens is the champ!
Tori Montgomery: (quiet chuckle)
Frankie Garnett: What was that for?!
Tori Montgomery: You'll see.
Billy Idol's "Shock to the System" hits the speakers, bringing the crowd to their feet in ovation as one of the League's more recognizable faces emerges from backstage and across the green-tinted stage. Behind him, shouting final words of wisdom at him as he strides to the ring, is his manager, who seems unfazed by the surroundings. As they reach the bottom of the ramp, Nuclear grabs the Tag Team Title belt off his shoulder and raises his arms in the air, causing twin mushroom clouds to explode on the entrance stage before he slides into the ring, ready to go.
Amelia Williams: His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Coach Robert Greene, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing 278 pounds, he is one-half of the reigning Tag Team Turmoil champions...Nuclear Templeton!
Bob Sinclair: Nuclear has to be the obvious favorite coming into this match—he is undefeated against Stevens in three prior matches.
Frankie Garnett: Which won't mean a thing tonight. Scorpion is livid, and Nuclear's about to see what happens when a temper worse than his goes off.
Tori Montgomery: Why so nervous, Frankie?

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of twelve minutes even...Scott Stevens!
As soon as the bell rings, Stevens makes a beeline out of the ring and storms over to the announce table, where Frankie looks like he's had a couple of accidents in his pants. Tori, in the meantime, has a sort of Mona Lisa smile on her face.
Scott Stevens: Where is it, you b****?
Tori says nothing, keeping the smile on her face. Irate, Stevens pie-faces her to a raucous chorus of jeers from this audience. Recovering, Tori forgoes the headset and asks for a microphone from Amelia, who obliges her. At the same time, two rather burly men come around the ring and stop behind Stevens. One of these men is holding a manila folder.
Tori Montgomery: Since you want to be impatient and commit physical crimes just to get information, I have half a mind to tell you to go to hell, and not give you any information. However...I think I'll let that slide in light of what I'm about to tell you.
The man with the folder steps besides Stevens and violently shoves the folder into the chest of Scorpion, to clutches at it as if in self-defense.
Tori Montgomery: What you have there, Stevens, is the official word of the LPW Board of Directors, headed by the LPW owner himself, Mason Hardt. You see, in light of the fact that LPW has had trouble getting funding to reopen, and the prestige that The League brings to the world of professional wrestling, a deal has been struck that should satisfy all parties.
Since I know you won't bother to read it yourself you can take it to your attorneys, Pac-man or whatever video game character you claim is representing you this week, and they'll tell you the same thing I'm about to. Right now, Frankie Garnett IS the reigning Legacy Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion, as he pinned Scott Stevens for a count of three.
Frankie Garnett: The [censored] you say?!
Tori Montgomery: Moreover, LPW has agreed that the LPW Heavyweight Championship can be defended at League events, in a manner that is approved by the sanctioning body of The League. Whomever is the LPW Champion at the end of this season will get a guaranteed contract with LPW when they reopen, and it will be as their Heavyweight Champion. After consulting with our Board of Directors, it's been decided that the LPW Heavyweight Championship will be defended , starting at noon Greenwich Meridian Time tomorrow, under 24/7 rules.
Scott Stevens: (angrily) You can't [censored] do this!
Tori Montgomery: Those documents say I can, Scott. Furthermore, I have a personal message from Mr. Hardt for you, as well. "Because you were so inept as champion that you lost it to a commentator, of all people, it is the ruling of the LPW Board of Directors that you are ineligible to win the LPW Heavyweight Championship—"
As this is translated, the fans erupt in cheers, while Stevens is about ready to blow a gasket at ringside.
Tori Montgomery: "—until such time as your in-ring obligations to The League are complete. Whether it's the end of the season, after the planned champions' tournaments, or your return to LPW as a former champion, you are hereby forbidden to challenge the current champion, whomever it may be, for the LPW Heavyweight Championship."
At this, Stevens gets into Tori's face, yelling obscenities that the censors barely manage to block on delay.
Tori Montgomery: Our business is done here. Security, take him away. Oh, and Scott?
He turns in time to see Tori reach under the announce table and pull out the LPW title, placing it in front of Frankie.
Tori Montgomery: Next time, try looking harder.
Stevens tries everything he can to get out of the grip of the security guards, but to no avail as we fade to commercial with him continuing to yell at Tori and Frankie at ringside.
